We provide this notice explaining our online information practices so that you will know how information about you is used by Bay State On-Line.

The Information That Is Collected

Bay State On-Line does not collect personal information from visitors. In addition, viewers are not required to log in or establish an account before they can use the information that is provided.

The only information that Bay State On-Line receives when you visit is supplied from your browser. It includes only the type of browser used and the home server of visitors (aol.com, earthlink.net, prodigy.net, etc.). The server logs also show where visitors came from if they clicked a link on another web site (Yahoo! for example), and the pages that they visit and links that they click on. Bay State On-Line does not use cookies or any other means to store data on your hard drive. Some of the Featured Businesses (and other businesses that Bay State On-Line links to) may use cookies.

There are some forms for visitors to send an E-Mail message. The forms request that you supply your name, mailing address, telephone number, and E-mail address, but none of these fields are mandatory. This information is requested only for the purposes of responding to inquiries.

Bay State On-Line has established a subscription newsletter that will be sent out periodically (no more than once a month) to visitors who opt in. This newsletter requires only a valid e-mail address, but will also request a name and mailing address. This information is for internal use only and will not be shared or sold.

Bay State On-Line is a free information service to help people who are buying or selling real estate in Maryland, but can be useful to others, too. Bay State On-Line does not sell products directly. The Featured Merchants, on the other hand, may request personal information from you if you desire to execute transactions with them.

How The Information Is Used

As mentioned above, the information you provide on the E-mail forms is used only to correspond with you. Bay State On-Line also sends periodic marketing E-mail messages and postal mail to businesses and individuals. You always have the option, though, of deciding that you don't want to receive future messages.

Bay State On-Line will not share any personal information with any of the featured businesses, nor will this information be sold, rented or given to any third parties, including the Featured Merchants.

Privacy for Adults and Children

Bay State On-Line does link to other web sites, specifically those of the Featured Merchants. Bay State On-Line cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. You should be aware when you leave this site and you should read the privacy statements of each and every web site that you visit to determine how it collects personally identifiable information.

Protecting the privacy of our children is especially important. Bay State On-Line does not collect or maintain information from anyone that is known to be under age 18, and no part of Bay State On-Line is, at this time, designed to attract anyone under age 18. There is no guarantee, however, that sites that Bay State On-Line links to will share a similar policy. This site will not link to sites that provide universally objectionable content.

Contact Bay State On-Line

If you own a small business and would like to make sure that you are listed here, you can submit your information on-line. There is no cost for this service.

Bay State On-Line uses a web site concept known as cross-linking as "compensation" for adding business listings, including web sites.

The only requirement is that you add a link to your site that will point your visitors to Bay State On-Line. Cross-linking is a great tool that helps to make web sites more visible in search engines, so it's a win-win proposition.
